Appeared on the list of ‘missing persons’ published in the Irish Times of 22 August 1921. He was already dead by then. Bizzarely being killed by drowning

 

1896 Born. Oddly I cannot find the family in the census

Enlisted in British Army T/39062 in RASC

1915 May 18 Landed in France

1916 Dec 12. Transferred to RASC

1919 Oct 18 Discharged from British Army. They seem to have let his pension run until exactly a year after he disappeared

 

1920 Aug 27 Missing at "Craigue" Kilkenny according to "missing persons". The IRA have this as Graiguenamanagh . And his British Pension card as Craig

The WS records observing Kenny helping the Crown Forces with raids and information, eventually they decided to pick him up, which was difficult as he was living with the Devonshire Regt.
