1920 Oct 26 The IRA arrested Counihan near his home. He was tried by an IRA Court Martial, and according to the IRA he giving information to the RIC. He was sentenced to death, and shot that night. In spite of being shot, hw made his way 3 miles to Bodyke, where he died in the pub
