IRA Witness Statement. About the end of September, a Black and Tan, called "Jaspar", who was involved in the death of an I.R.A. man, named Kennedy, was arrested by the Tralee I.R.A. and brought to Ardfert where we held him prisoner for about five weeks. On the 29th October he was taken to the sandhills at Carrahane and shot dead and buried there
IRA Witness Statement An inquest was held on my brother though it was prohibited by a Government telegram to the Coroner, Dr. John O'Connell ,I.L.D., and a verdict of wilful murder was returned against as oldier ,known as Ginger George and Jaspar a Black and Tan. The soldier named Ginger George was transferred to another English Regiment but Jaspar the Black and Tan was captured and executed, despite my protest, and buried in the Ranna sandhills His remains were subsequently exposed by the blowing away of the sand and I had his corpse transferred to England by the Kerry County Council for burial. I had already certified his execution so that his wife and family could get the compensation paid by the British Government.
